Taylor Swift In NOLA

So … maybe you have your Taylor Swift tickets already, maybe you’re thinking about coming to New Orleans for her show, or maybe you just want to know what to do while you’re here in NOLA on a different type of trip. The good news is that Taylor is performing in the SuperDome, and I don’t think there is a better place in the country for huge events like this. The SuperDome is located in the CBD in New Orleans, which is why it’s such a hit for these huge events and why it’s hosting the Super Bowl in 2025. The best restaurants and music venues are all concentrated relatively close to the SuperDome, whereas in other cities, their stadiums are often out on an island somewhere with nothing to do. Combine that with warm weather, New Orleans hospitality, and the best food in the country — and you can see why it’s such a draw.

So, what do you do while you’re here? Easy. Eat, drink, listen to music (in addition to Taylor’s), take in the art galleries. And really, just take in the beautiful weather: late October in New Orleans should be perfect. So, here’s a list of some of our favorites — all within walking distance or a quick Uber ride to the SuperDome:

Best Places to Eat/Drink in New Orleans for Taylor Swift

  1. Ironworks Coffee & Crepes — for coffee and breakfast —

  2. Cafe du Monde - for beignets

  3. Mother’s — for Poboys (try the debris poboy!)

  4. Drago’s — for oysters (get the charbroiled ones!)

  5. Peche — for a fancier James Beard winning dinner

  6. Copper Vine — for the day of. Great for pre-gaming cocktails, New Orleans food, and walkability.

Best Music Venues in New Orleans for Taylor Swift:

Ok, so we know you’re coming here to see Taylor, and of course, nothing is going to compare to that experience. But you can’t visit New Orleans without catching some music from the birthplace of jazz. Plus, the cost of admission will be just a littttle bit less expensive than Taylor’s show.

  1. Preservation Hall — this is the OG. Enough said.

  2. Blue Nile — on Frenchmen St., get ready for some funk (the good kind)!

  3. The Spotted Cat — also on Frenchmen, small, can get crowded.

  4. Snug Harbor — great burgers to go along with great jazz.

  5. Maison — late night spot for music. You might also catch some famous New Orleans rap/bounce music.

Best Places to Stay in New Orleans for Taylor Swift:

And the list wouldn’t be complete without knowing where to stay. We definitely recommend the CBD or Warehouse District for Taylor’s show for easiest walkability and the most centrally located accommodations for accessing the best of New Orleans. We also prefer apartment style hotels for the feeling of being part of the City and fully experiencing the City more like a local rather than a tourist. But we’ve mixed in a few hotels in case that’s your jam. Our top places to stay:

  1. Bonsoir - the closest to the SuperDome, only 2.5 blocks. If it’s already sold out, try one of our other favorites.

  2. The Mary Beth — also very close to the Dome, and the art gallery gives you the local art experience you’ve been looking for.

  3. Ironworks — still only about 6 blocks from the SuperDome, but its location inside the Warehouse District is perfect.

  4. Motorworks — cool loft apartments.

  5. Copper Vine Inn — the pre-gaming restaurant also has a hotel allowing for all the pre-gaming.

  6. The Four Seasons — beautiful, new … but super expensive. The others are better values, but you can’t beat the service here.

Ok, that’s all for now. Lots of good options here, and hope you have an awesome time in New Orleans. Check back on our blog for other New Orleans travel ideas. We’ll probably be writing a series on girls trips soon, which will overlap with this one.
